This is a 50% drop out of the Chest of Majordomo in Molten Core. If the Eye of Divinity drops (which is 50% drop rate) then the leaf will not.

Ok, Fellow Hunters this quest is a bit of a pain, but is easy if you read up on all the tactics.
So im going to try and help you lot.
Once you start the Quest you have 4 Demons to slay.
When looking for the Demons, make sure you are Tracking Demonoids and not humans, Make's it a little easier to find them as they walk around the areas because it can be a pain to find them.-----------------------Demon Name: Klinfran the CrazedLocation: Burning Steppes - Normally on the West Side.
This guy is about Patience. Make sure you have Stam / Int buffs. And take along a few mana pots and healing pots. If you loose all your mana you going to fail this quest!
Now there is a couple of ways you can do this, most people recommend Kiting him, although I don't. If you kite you run the risk of bumping into other players or mobs. Which will make life a bit hard.
Ok, Tactics.Every 15 Seconds Klifran goes into a State of Frenzy Where he will deal allot of dmg. Use Scorpid Sting ( Highest Rank ) - This will take away his Frenzy once fired at him. (Check buffs) Do NOT Fire this before 15 seconds after the 1st Frenzy other wise it wont work. Once Applied he will deal 1 dmg every hit for the next 15 seconds.
So 1st, As you walk up to him, Fire Scorpid Sting (And make sure it hits), then go melee on him, try not to use all of your mana because you will need it. Try to count to about 10 - 13 seconds after you fired the 1st shot then when you get to 10 - 13 seconds hit him with wingclip and get away from him, this will slow him down and give you enough time to get range.
Once at range, Fire the next Scorpid Sting then repeat what you just did. Keep doing this until you kill him. That's it.
This to be aware of: After you apply WingClip there is a chance he can daze you, so be ready to fire scatter shot or use Warstomp to slow him down so you can get range.

Pretty easy this one. There is a woman with a Felhound. Make sure you have the Stam and Int buffs again.
Tactics: Lay and Ice Trap, Aimed Shot the Demon (Simone), Then Concussive Shot, then ViperSting (To Silence her) and wait for the demon to get trapped in the Ice Trap. Then its pretty much about Melee again on the demon. Watch for her Lightning and try to interupt this with Scatter shot.
Once she is dead, you can get help from friends to take the demon down. This will not affect the quest.

-----------------------Demon Name: Solenor (Nelson the Nice)Location: Silithus - Normally around 25,79.
Bring along some friends (And a Warlock) to help keep the area clean from mobs. Before you start (Around 25,79) Clear ALL the mobs from the area, this will buy you some valued time.
Tactics:Before you start this demon, Get the Warlock to Duel you. Tell them to Put Curse of Recklessness on you (This will make you immune to fear). Also, take some Shadow Prot Pots, and make sure you have every buff possible :p
Start: Apply Hunters Mark to him. Start the fight with Arcane Shot or Multishot, When he runs towards you Hit him with WingClip (Rank3) This stuns him so he cant move. Get max range and open fire. Now beware of the beetles that will follow you around (Try to go in a Circle at all times around him when he is stuck) No need to worry about the 1st few beetles (Multishot will help to kill the beetles). Carry on with Ranged DPS until the stun breaks, he will approach you, hit him with WingClip again, maybe use Scatter Shot before he gets to you. When there is allot of Beetles Wait until they are all together and Fire Volley onto them right after getting into ranged position. They have relatively low life and are easy to kill. Although they will cause allot of dmg to you. and stun you.

-----------------------Demon Name: ArtoriusLocation: Winterspring - Start the Kite at 58,12, Then go South.
This is a simple Kite, Take along some friends (On lvl 60+ Mounts) to take away agro in your path.
Tactics:Basically, keep this guy at max range ALL THE TIME. Start off with a Aimedshot then use SerpantSting on him, SerpantSting will stack and cause allot of dmg to him, (this is how he dies). Start at the top of the hill and Run down it, when you get to the bottom, take a right and run on the left side of Everlook (The Town) By then you should be dead. If not keep kiting.

With the new patch talents, it makes the quest a lot easier for marksman spec hunters. Your dps is increased majorly if you spec the correct way, thus making the demons a lot easier to kill. As he said though, bring pots and whatever buffs you can. The sooner you finish the quest, the sooner you get your wonderful weapons.

A little-known fact - after you spawn any of the demons, you can be partied with another hunter, let THAT hunter kill the demon for you while you don't touch it, and if you have loot on Free For All, you can still loot the head (not sure if you can loot multiple heads)

Being a level 78 hunter at the moment of writing this, I also can confirm that the whole quest chain around Ancient Petrified Leaf is still active in Patch 3.3. I specifically went for it to Majordomo Executus yesterday and was lucky to get it out of his Cache at the very first kill.
That done, I went to Vatrus the Ancient, one of the three old trees in Felwood. Turning in this quest then will give access to one new quests from each tree.(Advise: you will have to dismount to be able to turn it in/see the question mark!)
Combining the Ancient Rune Etched Stave with the Enchanted Black Dragon Sinew will ultimately give you the famous Rhok'delar, Longbow of the Ancient Keepers.
FURTHERMORE, Vatrus will give you Lok'delar, Stave of the Ancient Keepers once you talk to him again. There will be no further question mark, you simply have to talk to him again.

Just happened to pick up this leaf today when running around Molten Core helping some players get the achievement.
Figured that at lvl 80 it would/should be a piece of cake. Only one little problem. Tried Artorius in Winterspring first. He despawned as soon as I hit him. Thought it was because I was in a group (other player did not hit him) . Waited around for him to respawn and same thing happened. Guess it is not going to work for a lvl 80.
Edit - Went back, unequipped all weapons and then beat Artorius. Will try the same thing on the other three.
Killed Simone and her friend in Ungor without weapons.Got tired of slapping them around until they gave up so with Solenor/Nelson in Silithus I started on him without weapons but the bugs were getting to me so equipped and killed him.Kilfran/Franklin in the Burning Steppes I engaged with weapons equipped and all was fine.

Did you have your pet out?
I tried it last week after also getting it as an ICC10/25 geared hunter.
I engaged Artorius with no bow/sword equiped. Pet was still out, so I quickly put him on passive. I'm not sure if itwas that or the no-weapons, but then he went down easily.
The other tree I took without pet out and without sword but with Zodd's bow.
Too bad you cannot repeat it, else we could have determined what it exactely is.
Anyway, just put your pet in and fight him with fistst. They are easy enough and that the fight takes a bit longer is actually fun so you can see what their abilities are.

Still in patch 4.0.1, will most likely be removed with 4.0.3.
As long as you don't have your pet out, these go down in about 10-30 seconds. Wing Clip, disengage, a couple of arcane shots, and concussive shots, and they are dead.

I completed this quest line on my lvl 65 hunter a few days ago.Granted she is epic complete with her gear full dragnstalkers kit which helpedalso carries 2 epic 1 handed axes.
Just to confirm this must be completed solo!No pet at all as the they will de spawn,No help from anyone else,Its the only way you will be able to complete this quest.
The hardest 1 is the one in Burning Stepps but if you read the guides postedand use the advice its relativly easy.

I just finished the whole questline at level 60 (turned off XP just to be able to do this...) and honestly it's a cakewalk in 4.0.1 as long as you spec for it. My leveling spec was Beastmaster, so naturally I was nothing but a greasy smear the first couple times I tried it. Then I went back to Org and dual-specced into a Survival, solo/kiting spec. After respeccing I got Arturious and Klinfran in 3 tries each, and one-shot Solenor and Simone. http://www.wowhead.com/talent#cZZhbGfRGbo was the spec I used. In hindsight, I probably should have put the points from Counterattack and Entrapment into some combination of Toxicology and Noxious Stings.
The trick to the demons now is 1) NEVER let them get in melee range, 2) Distracting Shot on cooldown, 3) MORE DOTS!, 4) Traps on cooldown.
With Disengage not available at 60, at least 2 of the demons immune to Counterattack (Arturious & Klinfran, I never tried it on Solenor/Simone), and their run speed faster than Cheetah, if the demons get to you, it's over.
Distracting shot is now absolutely free, can be used on the run, and will keep the demon glued to you while you wait for your focus to regen. Try to spread it between your actual shots to reduce the chance of your demon evading.
The majority of my damage on the demons was from Serpent Sting and Explosive Shot. (One of the demons kept removing my Serpent Sting, though; I think it was Franklin? Don't remember.) DoTs are your highest damage per focus abilities, and you want to conserve your focus to prevent evasion. If you just unload at the beginning, you're going to go OOF quickly and spend too long running without shooting, causing them to evade and reset.
Because DoTs are good and focus is scarce, Lock and Load is amazing. Even if you aren't in danger of being caught, try to trap on cooldown for more Lock and Load procs. Also, I think this was a bug, but my Ice Trap was not proccing Lock & Load. None of the demons were immune to Freezing Trap, though, so I stuck to that and it all worked out OK.
By the way, I pulled Simone by using Wyvern Sting on Precious, and oddly the felhound never aggroed on me. I rode past the place where I had left her on my way back to the flight point, and she was just standing there, still in demon form, not CCed at all. I hope some poor leveling Alliance player finds her!
For reference, in addition to my vanilla gear I was wearing heirlooms (PVP gun, PVP daggers, PVP shoulders, PVE chest) and 2 blues from Hellfire Ramps (ungemmed). None of my gear was enchanted.

If Blizzard was all ready prepared (in broad strokes) to put out transmog when cata was released, I can see them wanting to remove these epic (but now easily solo'd) class quests. Things like rhok'delar, Benediction/Anathema. Though this is along the same "wth blizz" lines as not allowing the HWL/GFM lvl60 pvp gear to be transmogged by those who did not first earn HWL/GFM.

This item is gotten from the Tree's in Felwood after you have started your hunter quest (leaf from Domo's chest). After you obtain the leaf, you are instructed to kill 4 Demon's, and get a Mature Blue Dragon Sinew ( http://www.wowhead.com/?item=18704 ).
You have 2 options of getting the Sinew for the Quiver1) Kill Azuregos (outdoor raid 40man 50% drop rate)2) Kill blue elite dragonkin in Winterspring (.5% drop rate)

Don't underestimate quivers. Both the ranged attack speed increase and also the slots to put your arrows in are a big help. Especially when your guild starts new instances and you gonna wipe, wipe, wipe, you never know how many arrows you might need. So the more the merrier...

Azuregos now has a 100% droprate of 1 sinew.
The blue sinew is required for the quiver ONLY. you can get the bow/staff without it.

People will often tell you that the Harpy Hide quiver is better than this because it's easier to get. The thing they discount is the 2 extra slots. Those 2 slots in a long raid can make the difference between owning faces or looking like a n00b, and in grinding it makes it so much nicer to not have to make those extra arrow runs. Also, if you look at the BC items, the new quivers (rep items) are the same as this, so once you have this, you've got the best you can get.

If you have this quiver at BC release, KEEP IT. After reviewing the new quivers available in the expansion, they are IDENTICAL -- 18 slot, 15% increase.

It was quite a pain to figure out how to get this quiver. Here's what you need to do:
1.) Go to Molten Core and get the Ancient Petrified Leaf from Cache of the Firelord.2.) Right click the leaf to start The Ancient Leaf quest.3.) Turn the quest in at Vartrus the Ancient in Felwood.4.) Now speak with Hastat the Ancient (he's right next to Vartrus the Ancient) and get the Ancient Sinew Wrapped Lamina quest.5.) Go to Azshara and kill Azuregos.6.) Loot Mature Blue Dragon Sinew from Azuregos.7.) Return to Hastat the Ancient with the Mature Blue Dragon Sinew to finish the quest. Upon completion you will recieve the Ancient Sinew Wrapped Lamina quiver.
Notes: Obviously the hardest parts of this quest line are getting the Ancient Petrified Leaf and killing Azuregos.

This lovely quiver looks to be obsoleted by the 2.3 patch. The Knothide Quiver and Quiver of a Thousand Feathers are both craftable by leatherworkers without too much difficulty. Same 15% speed boost, but 20 or 24 slots.

Since 3.1's change that Ammo stacks to 1000 AND quiver haste is now moved onto the Autoshot spell tooltip... you'd THINK that all quivers were useless.
But it's worth noting that... you keep your quivers "equipped" if they're left in a bag.

This was the last in-game quiver that gave +15% ranged attack speed in addition to Auto Shot... but in 3.2 bonus was removed like on other quivers.

Actually, this is not worthless in Cataclysm....it's actually quite awesome.
Right now on the PTR the Ancient Sinew Wrapped Lamina got the same treatment as the other quivers and got turned into a bag. The one difference being that while the big quivers (such as the Quiver of a Thousand Feathers and the Nerubian Reinforced Quiver) got turned into 20 slot bags...the Ancient Sinew Wrapped Lamina got turned into a 24 Slot Bag! Yay!
What happens if you have 3 different quivers in your bags. Do they all get converted?

As of live 4.0.1 today, this is now a unique hunter only 24slot bag. I hope all the hunters out there that have done the questline held onto their bag. I kept mine for nostalgia, boy am I glad I did.

Wish there was a way to recover this item once destroyed. I used the bow, quiver and sometimes the staff back in Vanilla but destroyed it for bank space during Burning Crusade... wish I could get this bag back at least. If anyone knows of a way please share.

Edit: As of 4.1 quivers will no longer show on characters.Edit 2: At Blizzcon 2011 it was announced that hunters would be losing melee weapons and ranged weapons would become hunter only and sheath on the back of your character, hopefully this means that come MoP, quivers will once again display on the back of our characters as well. Edit 3: Well it didn't come back with MoP but as mentioned at Blizzcon 2013 quivers will be returning with the new player models however from what we've seen so far it'll work differently than before and wont be tied to equipped "quivers" in the bag slot.Edit 4: Still not back with player models. Probably better to just assume they're gone forever and hopefully, one day, be pleasantly surprised.
I've had this quiver for almost 6 years now, glad I held onto it :)
After reading some post here I've done a few tests to see what affects it.
It will show even if you have the Show Cloak option disabled.
It is not dependent on which bag slot you have it equipped in.
It will show regardless if you have a gun, bow or crossbow equipped.
It will show regardless of what melee weapon you have equipped.
Mounting will not remove it.
Will show on the character login screen.
If you equip it for the first time or unequip it later, you must relog before it will update on your character.
Client side only! (other players will not see it on your character)

I ran this quest line a long time ago when we were bored and decided to see how many of the old raids we could do as a five man team. (This was during BC) I ran the quests to get all the gear. Once they did away with hunters needing quivers I kept this in my bank and forgot about it.
I can confirm that as of today with the new Cataclysm expansion and patches out that it has turned into a regular 24 slot bag to be used for anything. It also still shows up visually on your character's back while out running around.
A very pleasant surprise to find and I've gotten some pretty interesting comments from fellow hunters.

Prior to 4.0.6 this was still a visible quiver on my hunter's back even with a 2H on my back (both in game and on the select screen) but seems it's now been "fixed". Granted it looked a little odd since I use a gun but it was something different =P

If you didn't get this one, and still want a quiver, the only one still available in the game is to find a leatherworker who knows the pattern for Quiver of a Thousand Feathers and have them make one for you.

When the patch came out that converted all ammo pouches and quivers to normal bags, i was surprised and very happy that my Tauren hunter that I had played since WOW was released had a shiny new 24 slot bag. Very difficult and expensive to obtain anything comparable.
I also had a dwarf hunter lvl 80 on another server so I quickly logged onto him and found that there was an MC raid forming, which wasnt uncommon in the last weeks of Wrath of the lich king, as many people had gooten bored of the raiding content and were running a lot of lvl 60 and 70 raids for achievements.
We cleared the whole place in about as much time as the place takes to run from boss to boss, and the leaf dropped for me. I was the only hunter in the group and got the item.
After the raid i quickly went to felwood and got the quests to kill the 4 demons. They were a piece of cake, with most taking about 3 shots to kill. Much easier than when it took me many hours to kill them on my 60 hunter back in the day.
I tried to farm the blue sinew from the world dragon taht dropped it but he wasn't spawned (or was now removed from game..not sure) so I tried killing blue dragonkin for about 2 hours and got lots of stuff, just no sinew. I checked to auction house and no sinew was listed. Checked again the next day and one was for sale for 75g.
I turned in the quest and got the bow, the stupid staff that looks like a broken broomstick held together by duct tape and yes...my 24 slot bag.
I'm so glad I did the quest line now seeing its removed. I suspected this would happen so sorry hunters...if you didn't do the quests its tooooooo late.

I think as of Patch 4.1, this quiver and possibly all quivers, are no longer visible at the character selection screen and in-game anymore.
Can anyone confirm this? Or is it just me?

I wish there was a way to increase the size of this, since most of us have replaced it with bigger bags by now. There is no way I'm ever throwing this away, but it is kinda sad to use a bag slot on a bag.

This was the greatest quest chain in the game back in the old days! :D
The Mature Blue Dragon Sinew used to make this quiver drops from Azuregos (http://www.wowhead.com/?npc=6109), The Cobalt Scalebanes in Mazthoril, Winterspring (http://www.wowhead.com/?item=18704) or a friendly guildmate. If your guild can easily take down Azuregos, I suggest not farming endless hours in Mazthoril. If you have extra gold floating around, these seem to go anywhere from 80g to 800g.

As I have said in another comment, quivers are not to be underestimated. This is the best quiver in-game by now(pre-expansion). Apart from giving you 15% ranged attack speed (yeah only ranged, why are you meleeing???) it also provides you with 18 slots to put in 3600 arrows of your choice. Now 3600 arrows may seem too much, but if you are venturing to a new instance with your guild, meaning a lot of wipes you will need the arrows cause you can't be back and forth to the nearest town to buy arrows,

Even to this day after the release of the expansion, this is the best out there, only tied by http://www.wowhead.com/?item=29143 for the horde and http://www.wowhead.com/?item=29144 for the alliance. Now, its a lot easier to obtain the one from your Nagrand faction, but if you ever come across the Mature Blue Dragon Sinew, I would sugest to try and sell it, but you may not have the best of luck with it since its easier to obtain these, so really, its all up to you.

can you only get the quiver if you have the leaf from mc?because i thought about getting the quiver for style reasons (i got the one from the mag'har wich is as good as the epic one) but i never had the leaf.

I just finished this quest today. It was quite a pain to figure out how to get this quest. Here's what you need to do:
1.) Go to Molten Core and get the Ancient Petrified Leaf from Cache of the Firelord.2.) Right click the leaf to start The Ancient Leaf quest.3.) Turn the quest in at Vartrus the Ancient in Felwood.4.) Now speak with Hastat the Ancient (he's right next to Vartrus the Ancient) and get the Ancient Sinew Wrapped Lamina quest.5.) Go to Azshara and kill Azuregos.6.) Loot Mature Blue Dragon Sinew from Azuregos.7.) Return to Hastat the Ancient with the Mature Blue Dragon Sinew to finish the quest. Upon completion you will recieve the Ancient Sinew Wrapped Lamina quiver.
Notes: Obviously the hardest parts of this quest line are getting the Ancient Petrified Leaf and killing Azuregos.

From what I understand quivers are useless now as autoshot gives the bonus of 15% haste automatically for hunters so get yourself an 16, 18 or 20 slot bag instead.

Seems as though you cannot obtain this quest or quiver anymore prior to patch 4.0.1 (the patch that turned all quivers into large bags, this being the largest at 24 slots). :/

Can anyone in Beta that is a hunter confirm that you are still able to pick this quest up and turn-in it if you have the item prior 4.0.1?
I am going to level a hunter in Cataclysm and do all the new quests, so hopefully I can still be able to turn this quest in.

I'm not sure if other quivers (well..bags now) share this same exact texture as this one, but it looks a lot like the sheath for the Master Sword in Zelda: OOT...or at least it reminds me of it.

I'v been on this quest yesterday (in 4.0.3), and today (in 4.0.3a) it has been removed from my log and I can't talk to the three Felwood ancients anymore either (to get this quest back). Anyone knows what happened? Blizzard пометили это задание как устаревшее — его нельзя получить или выполнить. Хастат Древний просит вас принести ему жилу взрослого синего дракона.
